How Your School Can Start a Thriving STEM Club

You don't need a state-of-the-art laboratory to start a STEM club. You need a committed teacher, a regular time slot, and a few well-chosen activities that make students want to come back.
Start small: one afternoon a week, a simple challenge (build the tallest paper tower, program a simple game, extract DNA from a strawberry), and a culture where trying and failing is celebrated.
Connect the club to something bigger. Registering for a competition like SciSPELL, Code Africa or the STEM Kids Championship gives students a goal to work toward and a reason to take the club seriously.
